During Quiet Time
Mom: Kyra, whatcha doing?
Kyra: I'm going to Princess Church (all dressed up in her garb of course)
Mom: Princess Church, huh...what do you do at Princess Church?
Kyra: You dance of course (as she twirls around).
Mom: Can I come to this church?
Kyra: Noooo
Mom: How come? I thought all were welcome to church?
Kyra: Not this church, it's for princess' and unicorns only.
There you have it folks. She's learning exclusion of different denominations already, no nonprincess' aloud! If you ain't a princess, you ain't much. What has her little world come to? Next thing you know she's going to ask for makeup, and heaven only knows what that will lead to. As you can see from the photo too, is that she is working on training her first follower. I think we'll need an intervention pretty soon (or maybe we'll just let her be 3!)

OK, first, I heart that picture of your girls - it is just too cute. We haven't yet gotten into the whole princess thing - my girls are a little Mickey crazy right now, so their pretend is about getting up the beanstalk with MicKey, Donald, and Goofy! But I can only imagine that princess-land is not too far off.
i love it-- i love the pictures my parents have of me and my brother from when we were little doing crazy imagination things. I am so glad you document these moments.

I love those outfits! Can I ask where their dress up trunk came from? I was hoping one of the grandmas would get Becca some dress up clothes for Christmas, but it didn't happen this year. I've been wanting to get her some for her birthday in March, maybe.
I can understand how you feel about princesses. I felt that way a little bit, and my hubby is not a fan of 'girly' stuff. But then I was reading 'Captivating' by Stasi and John Eldredge, and it talks about how we need to encourage our boys to be boys (rough and tumble), and our girls to be girls (girls love fairy tales and girly stuff)...because that's how God meant us to be. Now we're letting a little more of the 'girly' stuff in. It's hard though, to not be worried about it being materialistic, or vain.
As long as they are grounded with a mom like you, I'm sure they'll be just fine. :)
The picture fo the girls is just so cute.
I was not a huge fan of the princess thing, but Renee said it all for me :)
We have tried some of the Gigi "God's little princess" books. We love the ballerina one and the message that we are God's princess because He choose us and loves us. They are really good, though corny.
